Lupita Nyong’ojust addressed thoseJared Letodating rumors.

The actress, 36, is featured on the cover ofNet-a-Porter‘s weekly digital magazinePorterEditthis week, where she opened up about what she’s learned since becoming a big Hollywood star with 2013’s12 Years a Slave.

Nyong’o revealed that finding friends in the industry helped her feel more at home in Hollywood — and those friendships include Leto, 47.

“Jared Leto, he’s still on speed dial, because we were on that [Oscar campaign] journey together and he’s so embracing of me,” the actress said. “There was an intimacy that grew from that, that goes beyond the dating rumors, beyond all that.”

The pair became close on the 2014 awards season trail, where Leto was making the rounds for his role inDallas Buyers Cluband Nyong’o was on the trail with12 Years a Slave.The two eventually both won their first Oscars on the same night: Nyong’o won Best Supporting Actress, and Leto won Best Supporting Actor.

“Starting with12 Years a Slave, I was welcomed [in Hollywood] with such warmth,” the actress told the outlet. “My castmates surrounded me. I don’t know if they are aware of this, but I felt so protected.”

“Sarah Paulson: my God, that girl, she was like everything to me,” Nyong’o continued. “AndAlfre Woodard, she was invaluable. I would ask questions about my finances, where I should live, all sorts of things.”

In 2014, Leto thanked “my future ex-wife, Lupita” when he won the Independent Spirit Award for best supporting actor, adding, “I’m thinking about you.”

Nyong’o previouslyaddressed the dating rumorson a 2014 episode ofTheEllen DeGeneresShow.

“You know it’s crazy cause when I read these rumors, they’re so detailed that even I start to question whether they’re true or not,” the actress told hostEllen DeGeneresof being in the fame bubble. “I know I’ve believed them in the past and now I guess I can’t believe anything.”

Nyong’o can next be seen in Jordan Peele’sUs, which hits theaters on March 22.
