Kim Cattrallis lending her iconic voice toHow I Met Your Father.

The Golden Globe winner, 65, has been cast in Hulu’sHow I Met Your Motherspinoff as the future version ofHilary Duff’s lead character Sophie, PEOPLE confirms.

“When @kimcattrall said yes I screamed. Now can we please get a better pic than this one I dug up from the deep web 😂 @himyfonhulu,” Duffwroteon Instagram Friday, along with a throwback photo of her and Cattrall at an event.

Duff, 33, was announcedto star in the showas Sophie in April; the actress also serves as a producer. In the spinoff, Sophie navigates life and love with her close-knit group of friends, Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Tien Tran) and Sid (Suraj Sharma).

How I Met Your Father Set

Hulu has ordered 10 episodes of the series fromThis Is Usco-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, as well as Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who created the original CBS series that ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

Cattrall’s most recent television role was in Fox’s adaptation of the New Zealand comedy/drama seriesFilthy Rich, which was canceled last year after one season. Her career launched with roles in such ’80s movies asPorky’s,Police Academy,Big Trouble in Little ChinaandMannequin.

The Broadway alum is most known for her performance as Samantha Jones in HBO’sSex and the City, which ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004. She reprised the role in two movie adaptations, which premiered in 2008 and 2010.

Cattrall previouslyexplained her decision not to return to the rolefor HBO Max’s upcoming revivalAnd Just Like That…, afterciting tension with her costars.Sarah Jessica Parkerhas consistentlyshot down any suggestion of a feudbetween herself and Cattrall.

“I’m lucky enough to have choice, not that I haven’t worked for it, but I have it,” Cattrall said last December. “It’s something I feel very lucky to have and I’m very protective of it. I wouldn’t be any good doing something that I really didn’t want to do.”
