H.G. Wells is n’t the only author who publish an earlier interlingual rendition of one of his novel in a disjoined edition . Peter Straub is publishing The Skylark , a version of his newfangled novel A Dark Matter before it alter in redaction .
Straub explain to Suvudu :
The Skylark is in the first place intended for the dedicated reader who collect first editions and is concerned in my process . It represents the very dissimilar novel this book was when first submit , the novel I lovingly think was finished . Because of the hundreds of pages of drop off material , I thought that it should be available to those who most want to see it . A Dark Matter is a better book , more graceful , more efficient , and a testimonial to the redaction summons , but its wild and wooly original version has a lot of energy and ferocity , and a total willingness to take chances , going for it .

The Skylarkcomes out this fall , and the limited edition sell for $ 50 , or $ 250 for a “ lettered ” version .
I bet there are a number of other books whose “ savage and wooly ” early texts would be fascinating to read . Which novels would you care to read an unedited , no - holds - bar early version of ? [ Suvudu ]
