The last issue of Batman , the first part of a duology dub “ Superfriends , ” dive into theemotional undercurrent of the endure friendshipbeween Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent . This week ’s Batman # 37 — by Tom King , Clay Mann , Seth Mann , Jordie Bellaire , and Clayton Cowles — forgoes some of that more serious soupiness to have an almost cloyingly mellisonant sentence with Bruce , Clark , Selina , and Lois . For Lois and Selina , that stand for exploring why each of them are drawn to Clark and Bruce in the first place . But there is n’t really a specific answer , and that ’s kind of the point — the love between Selina and Bruce , the love between Lois and Clark , it transcends the differences between each partner .
Clark and Bruce have a similar conversation , but because they ’re Clark and Bruce and emotional conversations with people , get alone each other , are not their strong points , it ’s masked in the veneering of the two vie at the batten cages , with a style of manly bravado in the air . ( They both complain that , of course , they ’re too good for the “ normal ” scope of the cage , before turning it into a competition over whether Bruce could murder a pitch from Clark . )

These story — the honey between an uptown newsman and a farmboy with a secret , and the one between a in high spirits - stake stealer and a Dark Knight — should be , as the quartet ponders during the night , impossible . But the life of Superman and Batman are satisfy with the impossible on a daily basis , so the end is : Why should n’t they just live with the impossibility of their erotic love , too ? When the three-fold escort comes to a ending , and Bruce and Clark just ca n’t kibosh themselves from settling their batten cage bet , Clark puts it advantageously : here ’s to the unacceptable , be it love or be it Batman ’s ability to hit a lurch from the Man of Tomorrow .
