Nolan Bushnell , founder of Atari , was at DIEC 2005 and voice his vox populi of today ’s video recording play man . He call back his peak when there was n’t a lot of memory board space for games , so gameplay come first , graphics second . But then Bushnell hazard into the choppier water supply of corporate criticism , clearly consider incline . He complained that the PS2 ’s control is too complex and note that mass have “ interface phobia . ”
The 3D comptroller that Nintendo is onto is a very good musical theme , he say . If you look at today s comptroller with trilateral , Xs , squares and circle , it s scarey . It s like a keyboard . People are interface phobic .
I ’m not sure if I ’d call it an interface phobia with the PS2 sell so well , and the Revolution is pretty far off , so perhaps Bushnell should intone down his accusations and go back to Chuck E. Cheese ’s for some delicious pizza .
