After time of year five ’s detour into Archer : Vice , the ring returned to good old spycraft in time of year six … which wrap up last Nox with the conclusion of thetwo - parter“Drastic Voyage . ” Including the heavy mesmerism that time of year seven , slate for 2016 , will take yet another new counsel . plunderer ahead !
Archer Gang set out “ Dr. Shrinkered ” On What Could Be Their Last commission
When last we saw them , the gang ( minus Krieger , who was making his own trouble elsewhere ) had been miniaturize and inject into the body of A Very Important Scientist , Dr. Kovacs , by the CIA . Guided by a grumble Slater and the oversexed Dr. Sklodowska , voiced by Carrie Brownstein , their mission is to laser a blood clot in the comatose gentleman’s gentleman ’s brain . If they follow , Archer and ship’s company will get a million dollars each . If they run out , they ’ll be shun from the espionage world forever .
Frankly , it ’s not looking good ( but really , when have these guys ever carried off a mission without a snag ? ) They ’ve made their incoming via the foot rather than , well , anywhere near to the brain , and they ’re beleaguer by musculus fiber . “ Muscle fibre , ” grumble Dr. Sklodowska as she fondles Archer ’s arms . “ Just think if I ever run out ! ” he shoot a line . ( Lana ai n’t thrilled . )
But Archer ’s get bigger problem , namely the lack of cocktail mixers aboard the miniskirt - poor boy , which he ’s still confusing for a space vehicle , given his talk of Tang ( if no Tang , Goofy Grape ; if no Goofy Grape , he ’ll settle for Rootin ’ Tootin ’ Raspberry ) . Most everyone else , meanwhile , is very cognizant that the clock is ticking ; they have only 57 minute and counting to get to the blood clot . A Byzantine path via arteria and heart ventricle is plotted , and everyone strap in for the gamy - speed drive .
Back at mission control , Malory in reality shows a teensy second of worry ( can it be ? ) , though she still has plenty of bile ( pro - peak : never ask her to add to your Kickstarter ) and vigor to fat - shame a baby . Gary Cole ’s Special Agent Hawley is so ready to write off Malory and her employee that when AJ get going wail , he mutters , “ If I were to make a lean of things I ’m not in the mode for , that would be 2nd . ”
Tiny - sized Cyril and Ray , guide the ship at breakneck pace , have a heart - to - heart and soul . Cyril wants Ray to apologize to Lana for the bowed stringed instrument of racist remarks he ’s made since getting a newfangled hand that materialize to be glowering - skinned . But that ’s not what Ray meant at all ! He ’s huffy that it ’s a robot hand , not a black deal ! Horrified , he decides now is the time to go explain to Lana … right when the wedge hits the equivalent of going into hyperspace . Bad idea . ( Cheryl expect if he ’s get under one’s skin disabled AGAIN ? The answer is yes , and he ’s horribly crumpled for the respite of the episode … not to mention the probably undeserving recipient of a knitting - acerate leaf second joint thrust by Cheryl a little while later . )
And there ’s yet another tortuousness , when woodlouse notices their oxygen levels are lower than they should be . There ’s a stowaway on board , and it ’s TV ’s Michael Gray , overjealous former fan of Dr. Sklodowska ! “ Mikey MIKE ! ” Archer sunshine , though he ’s not so glad when he earn the dire state of affairs his idol has direct them in , conduct to this uber - nerdy inner - baseball game interchange :
“ What do you need me to do , transform into Captain Marvel and save the twenty-four hours ? ”
“ I ’d be glad if you could transform into Jackson Bostwick . ”
SLAP !
Archer lets the slap slide ( to Pam and Cheryl ’s astonishment ) and addresses the mission ’s most pressing concern : white blood cubicle , which have misidentify the sub for unfriendly encroacher and are attacking the ship , block its clot - fall apart optical maser port in the process . Someone ’s got ta fit up in scuba cogwheel and optical maser backpack and take ’em on … naturally , it ’ll be Archer , and by procedure of riddance , Pam will help . With 15 arcminute to go , they start blasting away . And though they succeed in zapping the prison cell and the blood clot , they do n’t quiiiiiiittttteee make it to the exit point ( Kovacs ’ tear ducts ) before the ship and everything on it render to normal size .
bye-bye , Kovacs , and sayonara , espionage career . Oh , and auf wiedersehen supercomputer built by Kovacs , thanks to Krieger , whose rampage of destruction terminate with him holler “ Shrinkydink THAT ! Krieger OUT . ” ( Mic drop . ) In the final shot , the whole group is assembled in the New Mexico desert , out of job and out of luck , or so it seems . Lana is glad to be out of the CIA ( “ I do n’t want to risk my life on shady delegacy for those assholes ” ) , and Archer agrees , because work for The Man is not what any of them desire out of sprightliness :
“ We ’re the outsiders ! The scrappy underdogs ! We ’re Delta House ! The lousy Dozen ! The Rebel Alliance ! We ’re the BAD NEWS FRIKKIN ’ BEARS ! ”
Malory , pearls gleaming , has a very practical vexation : “ What are we get going to do for money ? ”
And with a dramatic sunglasses flourish , Archer ’s reply terminate the sequence , and the time of year : “ Well , I actually have some thoughts on that … ”
Until next season , Archer ! Will we be see Vice 2.0 or what ?
