Forget 4 K displays . Artist Chris Shenhas different ideas about how a TV should take care — so he build a presentation from 625 linked distant controls to acquire images using their infrared bulbs .

Shen rounded up a whole mound of old remotes , then rig them up on a large alloy frame with their infrared component confront outwards . Then they were all linked up to an LED pegboard , using speaker conducting wire , so he could institutionalize a video signal out to them .

With each remote playing as a pel , the resultant role is a video that can only be view through infrared goggles . It ’s a project fill up with artist financial statement sure — he claims it ’s a meditation on technological phylogenesis and might — but it ’s one we can get behind .
