If you feel like you ’re constantly on the go , you ’re not alone . A recent survey of more than 18,000 masses from 134 countries ground that 68 per centum of hoi polloi find they do n’t get enough eternal sleep .

Whileprevious studieshave analyzed the negative wellness effect of not getting enough sleep , less is known about the wide encroachment of not catch enough residue . to start a dialog about the importance of rest and relaxation , and encourage more strong inquiry on the subject , researchers at the UK ’s Durham University set up an on-line canvass they called the Rest Test .

The poll asked participants about their resting habit , how much time they were able to spend resting on average , and what bodily process they perceived as most restful . It also asked participants to report on their sense of well - being . Researchers not only found that more than two - thirds of respondents felt they did n’t pass enough fourth dimension resting , but that 32 percent believed they needed more rest than the average individual . A mere 10 percent , meanwhile , claimed they need less rest than the middling person . participant who felt they needed more rest were also more potential to have grim well - being rafts , while those who either claimed to need less rest , or were able to spend more prison term breathe , reported gamy well - being . Some of the most restful activities , according to participants , were reading , being in a rude environment , and being on their own .
