In a new interview in the July/August issue ofElle Decormagazine, the actress (and lifestyle guru) opens up about her favorite things, from her preferred beverages to museums to cities.
Here are the six things Witherspoon just can’t get enough of:
- Nashville

“The city has a sense of ease,” Witherspoon says. “It’s where I grew up, so I am blessed.” This fall, Witherspoon plants to open the first Draper James boutique in her home town. “We are aiming for that mix of traditional and contemporary that says, ‘I love where I am from, but I have also traveled the world,'” she tellsElle Decor. (Her online store,launched in May, is already up and running.)
- Café du Monde Coffee

“I like to prepare it in a French press,” Witherspoon says—though we’resureshe must have also tasted some of the chicory-flavored coffee at the original, iconicCafé du Mondewhile in New Orleans filmingHot Pursuit.
- Magnolia Trees in Bloom

“Onlyin the South,” she clarifies. “Everywhere else they look too skinny.”
- Draper James Mint Julep Cup

In May, Witherspoon launched her lifestyle site,Draper James, which is a shopping website focused on “Southern style.” One of her favorite items? The adorablemint julep cups. “I use them for little bouquets or cocktails served with fresh mint,” she says.
- Fruit Tea Punch
On a hot summer day, Witherspoon cools down with some ice cold fruit tea from Nashville’s Loveless Café, “made with tea, juice and cinnamon.” (We need thatnow. Good thing it sounds easy to recreate.)
- The Whitney Museum of Art

Witherspoon calls the newly renovated museum of modern American art “an incredible jewel at the end of New York City’s Highline.”
